Travel by Plane or Brain: Reap the Same Benefits

I love to travel! I’m mindful 89% of my waking hours. I’m acutely observant of others….our differences and similarities. I’m more patient and accommodating. I’m more creative and in tune. I believe this is true of many of us when we travel…that we observe more, are more aware, more in sync, more thoughtful.

Wouldn’t it be nice to be like this everyday? I say we can. While most of us don’t or can’t travel to a new town or country often, we can reap the same benefits of mindfulness, thoughtfulness, empathy, creativity (insert endless list) through quiet or meditation at home or work. Our brains have no idea if we’re in Switzerland or just visualizing being there…literally no idea. So, close your eyes, teeter on the cobblestones, hear the rumble of the trains, smell the bread, scan the sea of wildflowers, pop a sweet in your mouth…hello sublime chocolate!

Open your eyes. Relaxed? Undeniably.

Travel by plane or by brain. The more frequently you do this, the more you will reap the benefits from the feel-good chemicals that will flood your mind and body.

Happy travels!
