Meditation Is Not One-Size-Fits-All

Meditation is not one-size-fits-all. If a quiet-your-mind approach doesn’t work, try a mantra-based session, where you repeat a word (e.g., “calm”) or group of words (e.g., “I am calm”) of your choice for several minutes. If a mantra doesn’t resonate, try just listening to nature sounds and focusing on your breath. Do a little research on the different types of meditation.

Consider what you’re trying to accomplish before you start your research. Do you want to feel calm? Do you want to enhance your productivity or focus? Do you want to be more creative? Do you want to meditate as part of a wellness overhaul?

You can create your own type of meditation if those you try don’t hit the spot.

There is no try and fail. Meditating is not a field goal…you can’t miss. Breathe more deeply here, sit quietly there, something will ring a bell (no pun intended).
